Rhyen's Prints

My 11 year old granddaughter, Rhyen, is probably one of the coolest kids I know! Her versatility ranges from boogie boarding at the beach with her dad, and trail riding on her beautiful palomino quarter horse Cash, to being shut up in our studio for an entire weekend painting with me. She has been helping me make soap since she was so tiny she had to stand on a chair to see the top of the stove. When she first began to paint, I saved up cardboard out of frozen pizza boxes for her to paint on, so as not to waste (don't tell her I said that) my canvases. One day, however, she made me regret that decision by finishing a gorgeous painting of an Orca. She calls it "a study in red." Rick did his best to preserve it and made a frame for it, and it now hangs in a very prominent place in her home. Needless to say, that was her very last cardboard canvas!
We have not allowed her to sell any of her original work, as none of us can bare to part with her paintings. However, we have given our permission for her to begin selling some of her prints. We will be adding more as she finishes them, and we are hoping that this will help inspire her to keep up the good work!

Robin's Prints

Joshua and I in my studio.
I began painting with oils in my 20s with my grandmother, who was a powerful influence on me in many ways, but most importantly, in my love of art and life. During my child-bearing years, I put painting on the back burner, to be picked back up again 15 years ago. At that time, I traded my oils for acrylics, I then moved on to soft pastels, which is my most current love, and have recently been dabbling in water color.
